Think about the last time a story made you want to help. You probably still remember it, because someone told it well.  Now think about your own mission. You know exactly why it matters. The hard part is helping a volunteer, a supporter or a board member feel it too. Author and communication educator Donn King is leading Stories That Move People: Practical Storytelling for Those Who Lead, and you will do the work in the room, not just listen.

He opens with a revealing communication exercise (we won’t spoil it). Then you will look at practical examples and begin shaping your own story, with his guidance, for the people you most need to reach. You will leave with a story framework you can put to work. Donn is Professor Emeritus of Communication Studies at Pellissippi State Community College, with decades of teaching, writing and public speaking behind him. You will be in a room with other people doing good work in East Tennessee, too, and that is reason enough to come.
